is the latest version of one of the most popular MIDI players for
the Macintosh. Its features include Song lists, support for MIDI
Manager, OMS, MIDIShare and QuickTime, transpose, controller
sliders, and the ability to play Karaoke files.
QMidi
1.1 FAT is a
MIDI/Karaoke player for the Macintosh. It can play all kinds of
MIDI files, no matter where they came from, in any order, using
either the Mac OS QuickTime instruments, Opcode OMS (now USB
compatible) or serial port interface. QMidi also incorporates a GS
MIDI mixer. QMidi runs on any Macintosh with System 7 or greater.
It is fully OS 9 compatible. Drag & Drop requires System 7.5

sequencer software. Drag & Drop feature lets you convert
individual files or folders. Midi It! works best for converting
Standard MIDI Files downloaded through computer networks that were
created for machines other than Macintosh.
MidiKit
2.7.1 FAT is
a MIDI file utility program that allows you to quickly modify the
file type, creator, format and more for up to 400 files at a time.
It has a complete online documentation. MidiKit 2.7 is FAT (68K e
PPC native), and supports Drag & Drop. Features include
modification of copyright messages, even on multiple selections;
GS and universal sysex decoding/export; Event list export, with
SMPTE offsets and markers; Export Karaoke, and more. Works on all
Macs from Macintosh Plus and requires MacOS version 6.07 or

MIDIGraphy

is a multi track MIDI sequencer for the Macintosh, which allows
you to edit, play back and record standard MIDI files. MIDIGraphy
runs under System 7.0 or later (It has not been tested under
earlier versions of system software). MIDIGraphy requires a sound
generator to play back MIDI files. You can use one of following
MIDI sound generators connected to the modem or printer port of
your Macintosh: QuickTime2.0 or later with QuickTime Musical
Instruments; Apple MIDI Manager and a compatible sound device;
Open Music System 2.0 or later and a compatible sound device.
MIDIGraphy is shareware.
Speaking purely from
experience, I highly recommend Mark
of the Unicorn's
MIDI sequencing software. For those who want a simple program that
is easy to use and extremely flexible, their "Freestyle"
program is the way to go. If, of course, you desire a more
"high-end" application, then their "Performer"
or "Digital Performer" sequencers are your best choice. Visit
